Curriculum

The Kindergarten program at St. Bernard School is designed to prepare children for First Grade and beyond by building a strong skill foundation. Use of the Letter People and Building Blocks Program lay the groundwork for reading by second semester. Hands-on learning centers, science, and math are also integrated into the curriculum. Both handwriting and creative writing skills are fostered through journal writing. Students will experience a variety of learning opportunities individually, with a partner, in a small group and in a full group setting.

In addition, students can expect the following activities in Kindergarten:

• Daily prayer and emphasis on Christian values
• Physical Education
• Art
• Use of Macintosh Mobile Computer Lab
• Use of Windows PC computers in the classroom
